Revolution Heartworm For Dogs

Where Can I Get Cheap Revolution Heartworm For Dogs?

Revolution is a topical heartworm preventative medicine that is mainly used on dogs. Not only does it tackle immature heartworms, it is also good for treating fleas, ticks, ear mites and scabies and can also be used on cats at different strength and dosage. In addition, Revolution heartworm for dogs is a spot-on med that can be placed in one spot on the skin just once per month.

There are many dosage options for differing sizes of dogs and the fast, simple application method is a big improvement over past heartworm pet meds. Not many heartworm meds are spot-on lotions that can kill adult fleas and flea eggs at the same time. Revolution is also quick drying and water fast, meaning your dog can go for a swim soon after being administered with it.

Revolution is manufactured by leading med maker, Pfizer, and contains selamectin as the active ingredient. However, Revolution only takes on the immature version of heartworm (dirofilaria immitis) and dogs with suspected adult heartworm will need specialized treatment.

Revolution uses in dogs

There are several uses of Revolution heartworm for dogs, not least for treating early heartworm. The following are Revolution’s main attributes:

  • Heartworm control: The main use, which targets heartworm larvae and the early stages. Unfortunately, Revolution cannot tackle adult heartworms.
  • Flea control: Can kill adult fleas as well as their eggs and larvae.
  • Ear mites: Using Revolution on a monthly basis will kill any ear mites.
  • Tick control: Kills dermacentor variabilis tick infestations, although more doses will be needed for heavy infestations.
  • Sarcoptic mange: Takes care of mange. A second monthly dose may be required for large mite infestations.

Administering Revolution and side effects

Always have your dog tested for heartworm prior to administering Revolution. This med cannot kill adult heartworms and is just a preventive program, yet is also ineffective against other worms, such as roundworms, hookworms and pinworms. If you have switched from another heartworm preventive med, be sure to use Revolution heartworm for dogs within 30 days of the dose of the previous med.

The best place to administer the spot-on Revolution lotion is under the tuft of hair at the base of your pet’s neck, just in front of the shoulder blades. Squeeze the tube a few times directly onto the skin and move it around so there are no clumps. You won’t need to massage it in and it should not be applied to broken or wet skin. Revolution should not be used in pups under the age of six weeks.

Possible Revolution side effects:

  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Lethargy
  • Swelling
  • Itchiness
  • Fever
  • Muscle tremors
  • Shallow, or rapid, breathing
  • Decreased appetite
  • Extra salivation
